Bryce Menzies managed to jump 379 feet (115 meters) with a specially remodeled 900 HP off-road truck. This means a new Guinness world record.
Bryce Menzies prepared six months for the record jump
American Bryce Menzies trained in New Mexico, where he had a large take-off and landing ramp. Around the ramp a special virtual village was made, making the truck flying even more impressive. The record was set in a specially designed and remodeled off-road truck with two-wheel drive and 900 “horsepower”. After six months of hard preparations, he managed to jump 379.2 feet long (that equals to 115 meters), which was also confirmed by an official of the Guinness Book of Records. The distance is similar or even a little longer than the length of a soccer field.
During training Menzies underwent a serious accident and ended up in hospital
Menzies, who comes from Las Vegas, has recently become well established in the world of endurance rallies. He was fifth in the race in Italy with Mini ALL4, in Hungary even second. He also appeared in the Desert Challenge race in Abu Dhabi and ranked fourth.
However, Bryce Menzies is not completely satisfied with the outcome of the record attempt. After having already set a new Guiness world record, he wanted to repeat the jump and perhaps even improve the record distance live on Red Bull TV. But during training, an accident happened. He crashed the truck and ended up in a hospital. He left with a broken shoulder.
Anyway, incredible record, amazing scenery, and a bag full of courage. Get well soon, Bryce Menzies, we definitely would love to see more.
