The French car manufacturer changed its family minivan Peugeot 5008 into an SUV. The newcomer is, compared with the predecessor, longer by 11 centimeters, with more athletic and terrain inspired look and fitted with seven seats as part of the serial equipment. The interior is characterized by two large digital screens and typical Peugeot steering wheel.
New Peugeot 5008 grew 11 centimeters and became an SUV
Peugeot did a similar evolutionary step with their family minivan Peugeot 5008 as with smaller 3008 model. That means the concept of a car is closer to a large SUV than classical minivan. Compared to the previous generation, the new Peugeot 5008 is longer for 11 centimeters (19 centimeters longer than the Peugeot 3008), with 16.5 centimeter longer wheelbase (2,84 meters). On the other hand, the height remains unchanged at 1.64 meters.
Peugeot also made an excellent achievement, which coincides with modern trends in the automotive industry, and that is weight reduction. Compared to the current model, the new Peugeot 5008 is lighter by 95 kilograms, thanks to the EMP2 platform.
2017 Peugeot 5008 has 7 seats
The interior is a combination of French elegance and sportiness. The car has now already recognizable Peugeot small steering wheel and a dashboard on a digital basis. This means a 12.3-inch high-resolution digital head-up instrument panel called i-cockpit, and additional 8-inch capacitive screen, installed in the center console. Of course, the compatibility with MirrorLink (Android), Android Auto, and Apple Carplay is not questionable.
Part of the standard equipment of the new Peugeot 5008 are seven seats. The last two have less than 11 kilograms, which enables an easy removal from the luggage compartment. All three rows of seats can be moved longitudinally, it has five angles of inclination and in three ISOFIX attachments for child seats.
The flexible luggage compartment can swallow up to 3.2 meters long items
With sixth and seventh seat folded, the new Peugeot 5008 offers a 1.060 liters luggage capacity. In case the second row of seats and the passenger seat are folded, it is possible to transport up to 3.2 meters long objects.
Models with a higher level of equipment get hands free electric motorized tailgate, which can be activated by a kick under the rear bumper.
