Citroën will put a spacious Spacetourer under Geneva Motor Show spotlight. The new upcoming Citroen Spacetourer is tailored to the tastes of family or business users.

A newcomer to the French manufacturer offer represents a link between minivans and light commercial vehicles for the transport of passengers. One of the key strengths in the search for a wider range of customers is the choice of three lengths, XS, M and XL.

Citroen Spacetourer has three body lengths

Spacetourer XS will measure 4.60 meters in length and will have 1,978 liters of space in the trunk. XS will probably be closer to family users. Version M with a length of 4.95 meters will provide more comfort for passengers and 2,381 liters of luggage compartment. The longest XL is 5.30 meters long and has a luggage capacity of 2,932 liters. For this vehicle class SpaceTourer has compact dimensions, a height of 1.90 meters is not too high to easily manage and use in closed parking facilities. Turning circle from 11.30 meters to 12.40 meters is comparable to larger caravan.

At Citroën they ensure that even in the shortest version we will be able to find space for nine seats, and many more options with five, six, seven or eight seats. Seats in the second and third row are longitudinally movable,it is also possible to change the inclinations of the back parts. Spacetourer has the sliding side door, which can be motorized. On the rear it is also possible to open the rear window separately.

From built in technologies we can expect transparent data display and 3D navigation with a Citroën Connect Nav internet connection, as well as safety technologies, such as coffee break alert, which  suggests the driver a break after two hours of continuous driving.

Five diesel only engines

Citroen Spacetourer will be powered only by diesel engines, all from Citroën blueHDi family. The power range starts from 70 kilowatts (95 hp) to 132 kW (180 hp). More technical details will be released in Geneva, where visitors will be shown a specially designed Spacetourer Hyphen.

Citroen SpaceTourer has two identical brothers

Citroen SpaceTourer is a child of strategic cooperation between the PSA and Toyota. That means it is one of the triplets. The other two brothers are called Peugeot Traveller and Toyota Proace. Basically, it is a same model, distinguished by logos and design mark, which summarizes the characteristics of each brand.

Safety: 5 stars from EuroNCAP

And we should not forget about safety: all three brothers achieved a maximum of 5 stars on the recent EuroNCAP testing.
