In line with technological progress introduced by the new Ateca, Seat Leon dashboard and brain is now also packed with many modern electronic assistants. One of them is a Traffic Jam Assist for driving in traffic jams. This means that by using the Lane Assist and Smart Cruise Control, 2017 Seat Leon is capable of accelerating, braking and keeping the vehicle inside its lane at speeds up to 60 kilometers per hour.
Part of its electronic weaponry is also a system for automatic braking in the case of danger of collision with pedestrian. Face-lifted Seat Leon can recognize road signs and is able to park itself, both bay and parallel.
New rear lights and headlights now use Full-LED technology for better performance in the worst weather conditions. LED technology has also been used in the indicators and fog lights.
Due to the improved acoustic insulation the cabin will be quieter, the intensity of ambient illumination will be adjustable, infotainment screen is larger (8-inch), a few buttons disappeared from the instrument panel.
New level of equipment: Seat Leon Xcellence
Advanced users will appreciate completely renewed infotainment system interface with adapted and improved handling. Of course, due to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 2017 Seat Leon understands the majority of mobile phones. Besides that, due to the MirrorLink technology, some content can be mapped to the screen.
Inductive mobile phones charging is possible, and the Media System plus screen is now available in the size of 8-inches.
Besides the existing equipment packages (Reference, Style and FR-line), a new Xcellence option is now possible, with an emphasis on a sharper appearance, comfort and elegance. The seats will be enriched with Alcantara, ambient lighting can be multicolored, windows are surrounded by chrome, the smart key will be available as part of standard equipment.
The price of the Xcellence package will be aligned with sports-oriented FR-line version. And the good news for the racers, the renewed Cupra is on its way.
2017 Seat Leon new engine: 1.6-liter TDI with 115 hp
Among the engines, ranging from 90 to 184 hp in diesel variants and 110 to 180 hp in the petrol range, we have two newcomers that stand out above all. The new four-cylinder 1.6-liter TDI and turbo charged 1-liter petrol engine, both with the maximum power of 115 hp.
2017 Seat Leon ST version with four-wheel drive 4drive and two-liter diesel with 150 hp will gain a 7-speed automatic DSG gearbox with the facelift.

In the next few months, the Spaniards plan to reveal a new, fifth generation Ibiza and eagerly awaited small crossover named Arona. Seat also points out the arrival of the upgraded Seat Leon Cupra, with a few surprises announced. Perhaps a new record lap time at the Nurburgring?
