Alfa Romeo has fully revealed the new 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia, a dynamic sedan with short overhangs and a good weight balance. There are three different equipment versions and six engines. The world premiere happened in 2016 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland.

Although not Quadrifoglio Verde, the focus on the dynamism is evident

After Alfa Romeo presented a new Giulia in extreme sports version Quadrifoglio Verde last September in Frankfurt, they brought much harder expected everyday version of the car to this years Geneva Motor Show. 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia lost many sporting and dynamic additions, such as the air vents on the bonnet, rear diffuser, rear spoiler and large wheels. But as a BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 competitor new Giulia nevertheless maintained a fairly dynamic design.

2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia engines will provide 148 to 503 hp

Giulia will be available in three equipment versions: Giulia, Super and Quadrifoglio. The list of engines and especially the power range is huge. Two-liter petrol engine with 197 hp and 276 hp (for USA), 2.2-liter diesel engine with an output of 148 or 178 hp and 3-liter biturbo V6 engine, provided by Ferrari, with an incredible maximum power of 503 hp. While the gasoline engine power will be transferred to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the diesel engine will also be available with a six-speed manual transmission.

Alfa Romeo: the key is rear wheel drive and a good weight distribution

Customers will be able to choose between the rear wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Alfa Romeo emphasize that the two main key factors in the development of the new 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia are the serial rear-wheel drive and a good weight distribution of the vehicle. Engine and mechanical components are mounted between the two axles, thus Giulia has short overhangs, long front end and also above the average wheelbase for this automobile class. Due to the progressive and double-sprung chassis, Italians promise excellent performance and spacious interior. Very promising, in terms of performance and also fuel consumption is the low weight of a car. With a diesel engine new Giulia weights as low as 1,449 kilograms.

The interior appropriate digitized, modern security-assistance systems available

Inside, the center console is equipped with an 8.8-inch digital screen which is adapted to iOS and Android mobile operating systems through a special infotainment interface. Built-in TomTom navigation is a part of the equipment, and of course they didn’t forget about clearly recognizable driving mode selector called Alfa DNA. In front of the driver’s eyes on the dashboard there is another 7- or 3.5- inch digital screen.

For an extra charge, Giulia will have all modern security-assistance systems (automatic emergency braking, pedestrian recognition, warning against vehicles in the blind spot, radar cruise control …) and equipment such as bi-xenon headlights (no LED technology for Giulia?), heated steering wheel, parking assistant, and the like.
